Susan C. Rink is an award-winning employee communications professional with extensive experience in developing strategic communications programs and processes.

Prior to launching Rink Strategic Communications, Ms. Rink served as director of strategic internal communications for Sprint Nextel (previously Nextel Communications).  During her five-year tenure with the wireless communications company, she managed company-wide employee communication channels and programs, headed internal communication efforts for business continuity and crisis response, and provided communication counsel and support to the company's chairman, CEO, COO and other top executives.

Ms. Rink began her career at Marriott International, Inc., first in the company's hotel culinary operations and later as a charter member of the lodging division's internal communications team.  Later, as director of internal communications for Marriott International, she managed the company's publications and intranet content and headed the internal communication efforts to support dozens of special events, product launches and employee campaigns.  Ms. Rink served as the internal communication lead in the development of Marriott's business continuity and crisis response plans and played a key role in the company's September 11 crisis response and recovery efforts.

Ms. Rink is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Independent PR Alliance (IPRA). She has presented communication best practices and case studies at industry conferences in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles and at American University's School of Communications in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Rink authors the employee communications blog, "Take Note" (http://rinkcomms.wordpress.com), which provides senior executives with tips and best practices for employee communications.
